So I’m thinking I’ll take a wee break from blogging.  Say, a couple of weeks.

Rest assured, you vast sea of readers you, that I will be back soon!

Give me fevah!

May 7, 2007

I just had a conversation with a writer, someone who has actually written (and published!) books.  Just talking with someone who has birthed a book, from beginning to end, from screen to bound copy, gives me a dose of much-needed energy for writing.

Energy for writing is one of those things one has to engineer at times.  Like cardio, the more you do it, the better your body is able to do it.  Writing is like that: the more you write, the more you have the energy, ability, creativity, desire, time, dedication to do more of it.

So, for myself, I reiterate the mantra: keep writing, keep writing, keep writing.  If this mantra appeals to you, well…I highly recommend repeating it to yourself.  Get some energy and write!

What to write about?

April 30, 2007

I was looking at some writing prompts today, trying to get inspired.

I saw a suggestion about creating one’s own list of writing prompts by randomly, swiftly naming 10 things one may write about one day (don’t hold your breath!).  Here’s mine:

Makeup application techniques, spa days, toddler behaviors, celebrity gossip, depression, publishing without publishing contacts, sustainable passion, neighbor block parties, get-rich inventions, and the role of hospice.

So that’s my random, top-of-the-head list.  What’s yours?

The responsibility!

March 28, 2007

Do you feel it? The responsibility, and yes–the burden of blogging!

Are you like me? Do you worry when too many days go by and you haven’t blogged? Do you think of your readers (for me, all 2 of them) are depending on you and you’ll be letting them down if you don’t post something. Anything! Talk about the weather, remark on the price of gas—POST something!

I’m kind of going through this phase right now. Are you?
